The Horseshoe hanger gets its higher weight capacity from having more wheels than a standard J-strap — the load is distributed across multiple contact points rather than concentrated on a single wheel. That's what allows this kit to handle doors up to 250 lbs where the J-strap tops out at 200 lbs. The horseshoe-shaped frame mounts to the front face of the door the same way a J-strap does, and the rollers ride along the same 1-1/2" flat steel track.
