Despite the name, the soft corner strap actually has sharper, more angular corners than the straight strap. Where the straight strap has a gentle radius on its corners, the soft corner strap has crisp 90-degree turns. The name refers to the Goldberg Brothers product line designation rather than a description of the corner geometry.

If you're deciding between the soft corner strap and the straight strap in stainless: the straight strap has slightly rounded corners and reads as a touch warmer; the soft corner strap has hard right-angle corners and reads as more angular and industrial. Both are flat-profile face-mount hangers with the same 400 lb capacity. The choice is purely aesthetic.
